This week is wrapping up quickly, and Spring Break starts Friday! Please make sure your child remembers to take a book home over the break. Spring Break is a great time to make progress on reading goals, whether you are on the beach or taking it easy at home.
The school year is quickly coming to an end and I'd like to provide an outlook for the week we return from break and a general outlook for the rest of the year. This is absolutely subject to change, but it will at least allow you to see the big picture.
April 13-17, 2015:
Monday- Argumentative On-Demand Self-Assessment & Revisions
Tuesday- Library Day; Due: Revised Argumentative On-Demands
Wednesday- Intro to New Debate: Should you throw away your earbuds?
Thursday- Argumentative On-Demand, Self-Assessment, & Revisions
Friday- School-Wide Test & RWW Due
*New Reading & Writing Workshop & Vocab Unit 13 go home Monday!
April 20-24: Wrap-up argumentative writing & unit test.
April 27-May 1: A year in review. Review narrative, informational, and argumentative writing. Plus, review reading and writing strategies and test taking skills.
May 4-8: Review continued.
May 11-15: KPREP (Test dates are May 13-19 pending district approval.)
May 18-22: SMART Goal presentations.
May 25-28: Letters to future 6th grade students, awards...and fun!
