We are nearly one quarter of the way through the Holes novel study! Our study will continue next week with a more in depth analysis of the character Stanley and an assignment to write a persuasive letter as Stanley to his mother. This should be a fun and challenging week for students.
Please keep in mind, if a student is ever absent during the unit, there are three ways to make up the missed reading: 1) Before school in my classroom, 2) After school at Grizzlies Beyond the Bell, or 3) Listen to the audio recording via the class website. The following is an outlook for the week of February 1-5:
Monday- Holes novel and activities, chapters 11-12. Begin character analysis through ch. 18.
Tuesday- Holes novel and activities, chapters 13-14.
Wednesday- Holes novel and activities, chapter 15. Quiz on chapters 11-15.
Thursday- Holes activities, letter to Stanley’s mother. Brainstorming and drafting.
Friday- Due: Spelling Quiz, Unit 10. Holes activities, letter to Stanley’s mother. Final letter due at the end of class.
Note: Unit 10 Vocab is passed out on Monday.
