Next week ends the figurative language mini-unit, and moves us forward to short story writing.
The following is the outlook for the week of November 24-25th:
Monday- Figurative Language Unit Test. Students should be able to identify types of figurative language and purposefully use figurative in their writing. I've reattached the class notes to this post for studying.
Tuesday- Learning Check/Writing Piece Share. The afternoon is set aside for the Learning Check that will provide students with a KPREP-like testing situation. This will occur after lunch. The Learning Check will cover on-demand writing and mathematics. The results of the test will help teachers in their planning to understand and meet individual learning needs. Teachers will still see every class period in the morning, but they will be shortened. In language arts, students will peer share their figurative language pieces from today (Thursday), in which they wrote narratives using figurative language techniques.
